We all know about the famous buskers who dress up in legendary costumes: cookie monster on a xylophone in Seattle, naked cowboy in New York and so on and so forth. But they are not scary folks or they typically do not scare. This thread is devoted to the mysterious people who dress up as menacing characters who appear randomly.

For example, take the Clown of Northampton (http://www.northampton-news-hp.co.uk/News/Northampton-News/Spooky-clown-mystery-grips-Northampton-14092013.htm) (UK)

Or the Mad Trapper of Edmonton (http://www.flickr.com/photos/macjeep/6676679575/) (CA) (Not a good photo. I'm trying to find a better photo that captures the scowl that is always on his face.)

I think there is a Horsehead in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. People mostly laugh at it but it is still rather odd.

That clown thing is wrong. Just wrong. Wrong wrong wrong.

If he was stood outside my house, I would call the police.

There's a term for these folks... mental illness. :)
