Missing Persons Private Investigations

Hello, all. I was wondering if any of you know or if you can direct me to a good source of information regarding how missing persons cases are handled. By both the police and private investigations. I need specific details.

For the straight scoop from your local law enforcement agencies, call and ask. Most have a public information office. Explain that you're a writer and want to get your procedures correct. You may be surprised how helpful and cooperative they can be.

I simply googled - How are missing persons cases handled.

That should give you a start.

But to get specific details to an issue you first have to provide them so the question is specific. At present it's general and global.
