I love good player names. Every year I try to pick one that tops that season. In the past there have been:

Coco Crisp
Prince Fielder
Butch Huskey
Scipio Spinks
Randy Johnson
(for the amusement of our British friends)
Joe Klink
Eric Plunk
(I love the fact that he was a pitcher. So was Klink)
Boof Bonser
(He legally changed his actual real live first name to "Boof")
Antonio Bastardo

This year's nominee, a rookie pitcher for the MiamI Marlins:

Arquimedes Caminero

I need to get his baseball card.

I'm liking Jarrod Saltalamacchia because of the way that last name appears on a jersey and in lists of stats which have a character limit.

Maryn, who's seen him catch several times

A dark, evil place.
I'm fond of Matt Tuiasosopo, an outfielder with the Detroit Tigers. It's taken me all year to get to the point that I can pronounce his name.

He's the son of prominent former NFL player Manu Tuiasosopo. The major pro football league has its own list of glorious names, among which are:

Hiawatha Francisco
Jimbo Elrod
Billy Joe (yes, "Joe" was his actual real live surname)
Elvis Peacock

And now we have new rising superstar Andrew Luck.
