These saint paintings are exceedingly rare, since the English puritans destroyed almost all medieval and earlier English religious art when they ran the country in the seventeeth century.

The screen of the Holy Trinity Church in Torbryan had been the most complete of its kind.

The missing saints are Saint Victor of Marseilles and Saint Margaret.
