This woman had a few unexpected guests stop by.

A Suncoast woman remains shaken up after mistakenly becoming the subject of a police raid. The woman says U.S. Marshals were acting on a tip that lead them to the wrong home; and the raid left her staring down the barrel of a gun.

...

ABC 7 had some of the same questions. So we placed several calls to the US Marshals' office but were unable to get a response. But according to an article written by Tom Lyons in the Sarasota Harold the officer at the door was Matt Wiggins. He was quoted saying they were looking for a child-rape suspect Kyle Riley, who was arrested several hours later in another part of Sarasota.

But Goldsberry says something said by the officer during the incident may be the basis of the entire ordeal. "His comment was they're federal marshals and they can basically do what they want."

Agorism FTW!
Goldsberry says it felt like she was in a war zone and even though she heard the word "police", she says the gunmen's behavior caused her to be skeptical. "It was really scary because he said 'if you don't put your gun down, I'm going to f-ing kill you.' When he said that at first I wasn't even sure if it was the police still because police don't act like that and say that. I thought it was a home invasion. I thought is was some bad guys after me for some reason. " Goldberry said.
Police don't act like that and say that? She should hang out on P&CE more often. She would have been forewarned. She's lucky she got a chance to drop the gun.

Oh yeah.
Eventually Goldsberry put her gun down and was handcuffed. While she waited, the U.S. Marshals explained they were acting on an anonymous tip that led them to her home.
If only someone could have explained that to Kathryn Johnston while she was being handcuffed.

ETA: I posted this in the OP's news story, can't wait to see if/when it'll show up:
Perhaps Ms. Goldsberry (and that "speakup" poster) could look up the case of Kathryn Johnston that happened in Georgia a few years back. Incredibly, there were no nationwide marches in her name. A guy killed by a wannabe-cop who can't "follow" without killing gets all the news and nationwide marches, but when the Real Deal takes or almost takes an innocent life, it's "just a news item." I suppose it's like what Nixon said, when The Government does it, it's not illegal.

I am kinda thinking they meant "Herald."

Sarasota Harold on the other hand is a card shark.

Something similar happened to our neighbor some thirty odd years ago. Her husband was getting a drink of water and saw a number of guys is swat gear in his front yard. He opened the door. She was upstairs and saw her husband surrounded by large men with large guns. Her cigarette set off the smoke alarm and things got pretty tense. They were actually looking for house next door.

The house next door was occupied by the wife of a guy in the state pen for organized crime related issues. That lady drove by, saw all the armed men milling about, and kept going till she saw a police car. The police told her what was happening and escorted her home. I don't know why swat was coming to her home.

When my neighbor was telling me about it I laughed so hard i almost peed my pants. In that era it was funny. Today, not so much.
