THE THREAD THAT WOULD NOT DIE (aka Songs That Drive You Crazy)

Why is it some songs have the power to stick into your head and play themselves out over and over again. We're not talking about tunes that you grew up on here or even ones you particularly enjoy.

For instance:

I'm going to Kansas City, Kansas City here I come. They got a crazy way of lovin' there, and I'm gonna get me some.

Re: Songs That Drive Your Crazy

Lori, Remember that column I wrote where after I posted the link everyone kindly "gave" me their songs?

This is the factual article that inspired it:
content.health.msn.com/co.../67505.htm

And now, I'm avoiding this thread or there's no telling what I'll get stuck in my head. :teeth

What do you do with a drunken sailor? What do you do with a drunken sailor? Put 'em in the longboat until he's sober. Put 'em in the longboat until he's sober. Hey, hey, and up he rises. Hey, hey and up he rises. So early in the mornin'

Bob the Builder. Can we fix it? Bob the Builder. Yes we can!

Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?

(What's really scary is when you find yourself humming one of these tunes in the grocery store. EEEK!!!)

Re: if

Mike, if you only knew how many years I've had to listen to that funky little voice inside my head singing "If I were King of the forestsssssss....not prince, not duke, not eoil."
