Hey people! I'm new here and just introduced myself at the newbie forum.

I've been lurking around and fiddling with the Google search but I've yet to find the answer to a couple of questions I have regarding publishing internationally at a magazine.

I mean, I know I have a snowball's chance in hell, but I'm kind of curious...

When you've published at a US or UK magazine, how did you get paid? I hope I don't intrude upon anyone's privacy, I don't want uncomfortable details, just a general perspective. Do you guys have to mess around with taxes? I ask because I'm already a part time worker and have my taxes automatically paid by my employer, so this might get tricky... What have your experiences been like, good or bad?

(I'm hoping that if I act like my story is going to be accepted it will :))

My other question is, like the god-awful amateur I am, is it industry standard to send you a copy of the issue where your story was published? And if such a wonderful thing were to be, how does this work at an international level?

Thanks for your time and everything! I hope I'm not TOO annoying.
