Have you ever heard of a thesaurus entitled, "The Synonym Finder?" (http://www.amazon.com/The-Synonym-Finder-J-I-Rodale/dp/0446370290/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366928728&sr=8-1&keywords=the+synonym+finder)

It's purported to be significantly more comprehensive than standard thesauri and is over 1300 pages long.

If you have used it before, what was your experience like? Do you consider it a valuable resource?

(Psst. Your link doesn't work.)

Haven't tried it; haven't heard of it. I use a free online tool when I need to look up synonyms, and I can't imagine needing much more than it provides, so I probably won't ever buy a real thesaurus. (Especially since I already have an elderly, hand-me-down one that I never use...)

I have an ancient copy of Roget's. It suffices.

www.thesaurus.com is pretty handy when there's a word I'm looking for and can't bring to the fore.

I'm sure it's fine, but when I have a word I'm looking for when my brain's locked up, it's much faster to just right click on words until I find the one I'm looking for.

So, you use Microsoft Word's thesaurus?

Yep. If nothing else it gets me close enough to the word I'm looking for that it jogs something in my brain.

I still can't believe that "The Synonym Finder" is over 1300 pages long.

... use this one too.
Could be a bit more comprehensive,
and include more synonyms.
But overall it's a really good resource.
