Snow in the summer?

You just answered your own question. Pick a mountain range. Preferably a tall one.

Glacier Park, Montana.

It's not unusual for the Road to the Sun to be closed until mid-July. Last time I was there was at the end of July and it was snowing.

But if they have superpowers, like mirandashell said, pick any mountain with a high elevation.

The southern hemisphere. Patagonia. New Zealand.

Mt. Rainier, Washington state. Accessible to a point and then it's all hiking or mountain climbing. Weather highly unpredictable.

Wind River Mountains or actually any range in Wyoming. You mentioned few people and remoteness, I'd recommend the Wind River Mountains. They can be very inhospitable. There are very few roads around it.

Mountains get cold.

But you could always just go to the opposite hemisphere.

New Zealand is a well known, traditional summertime training place for the World Cup skiers from Europe...I mean, if your heroes don't have a problem with some crowd.

On 2nd June 1975 there was significant snowfall across much of the UK, even causing the abandonment of a county cricket match. It doesn't happen often, but it's possible.

But it wouldn't be believed in a story......

Seriously, altitude will allow for snow, as will latitude.

For a dramatic/well-known location, you could try the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I've personally seen snow there in May, and a ranger there said she had seen snow in every single month of the year at some point.

I played in the snow at the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains (Colorado) in August once. And I was wearing shorts. Hey, considering we were coming from a 113 degree heat wave in Texas, it felt great to us.

Calgary gets snow in June (ha-ha!) Not every year, but it gets it once in a while.

Svalbard. Seriously.

Remote? Very -- check. Exotic? Very -- check.

With the added bonus of polar bear encounter and of course -- the Midnight sun, the polar opposite of Polar Night.

Picture this: your characters, making snow angels, under the magical Midnight sun.

I was at the Grand Canyon, Arizona in May and it was snowing over the canyon.

Back at the hotel it was over 70 degrees. (Fahrenheit.)

And if they're supernatural, can they make it snow? Or cold enough to snow?

She says, I wish I could see snow. He makes it happen.

Or vice versa, she makes it cold enough to snow for him.

Or it's raining and she says, he says ...

Lapland (Northern Finland/Sweden/Norway). And you don't even have to go the mountains, for example, last summer it snowed at the end on June in places. It is not that uncommon. You'll find snow in (especially early) June in Lapland pretty much every year.

LOL! I was going to suggest the same thing.

I live in Kansas and I've seen it snow in May. It lasted about a day but I've seen it.

Anywhere, Colorado

I was in the Sierra Nevadas around Sonora Pass in mid-late May and there were still snow banks that were probably 5-6 feet tall.
