View Full Version : Amazon Price Discrepencies

When I look on Amazon.com, books are showing up as completely erratic pricing. Some are higher, some are lower than what they should be priced, including my own.

When I look at my books, which are all listed as $2.99 (U.S. and Canada), I see this:

I don't know if it affects the royalties, but it's very frustrating. I don't understand why the prices are different when they're all 2.99. If it were a tax or a fee, then there wouldn't be any less than $2.99. There would/should be some consistency.

It's doing this even when I'm not logged in and on three different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE).

This is happening when I look at other author's books as well. Does this affect the 70% royalty?

Dunno about the royalties -- Amazon's contract with its SP authors is, more-or-less, "We can do what we feel like, take it or leave it, if you don't like it then sucks to be you." I suspect what they're doing is testing prices to see which sell better.
