Test your ability to recognize genius.

Is that glimmer in his eyes schizophrenia, or deep thoughts about string theory? Are those crumbs in his beard locally-sourced gluten-free artisan bread, or are they from a dumpster outside Wendy's? Test your skill by playing Professor or Hobo? (http://individual.utoronto.ca/somody/quiz.html)

Report your score here.

For someone who's been around a lot of professors, I didn't do so well, only four out of ten.

Maryn, who may be married to a hobo

Heh, that was funny - 7/10. One really fooled me - the other two I got wrong I'd pondered but that one I thought I was right with no hesitation.

2/10.

In my defence, some seemed too obvious to be a hobo so i picked prof. Ah well...

I recognized all those AW mods but did it anyway.

I got 5/10 for clicking hobo on all of them, yay me!

Several of my geology profs would have fit in very well in this quiz.

I tried to be smart about it, picking the options that didn't seem obvious, going against my natural instinct and... I got 2/10.

Looking back through it afterwards, I would've got 8/10 had I been sensible about it. *shrug*

8/10. It's killing me that I can't tell which ones I got wrong.

Okay, Maryn, you just gave me a seriously weird moment! I clicked on the quiz and...

...guy #2 taught me a course when I was at university.

6/10, if I'm not disqualified for having insider information.

Dang! I got 9/10 right. :D It bugs me the one I missed 'cause I second guessed myself.

Hmm 5/10

If you get 10/10, you instantly qualify as a professor yourself.

Of course, getting 0/10 means you have to become a hobo. It's a risk you're just going to have to take.

Maryn, I'm curious to know how you came across this quiz? :)

I didn't try it (yet), just wondering why I didn't see Prof. Higgs.

After you click the check it or whatever button at the end it gives the score and then the page transforms to show you who's who. That page has 'solutions' I think as the last part of the link.

Ah, I was looking at it on the mobile version. That seemed kind of b0rked, so that makes sense.

Sat Nam! (Literally "Truth Name"--a Sikh greeting)

8/10 I erred on the high side. I thought two hobos were profs!

9/10 - I got the first one wrong. I guess all the acting classes are finally paying off.

7/10.

I almost got the first one correct (hobo) because there was a creepy vacant look in his eyes that said "hoho" to me. But his clothes looked okay, and behind him I saw Grecco-Roman architecture. So I disregarded the creepy vacant look and went for prof. Oh well.

Maryn, I'm curious to know how you came across this quiz? :)Our daughter gave me the link. She's not on Twitter, so I don't know where she got it--but she's an adjunct teacher at two area colleges, so maybe there? I would guess professors are especially amused by it.

Maryn, wondering if it's cheating to wait until you've forgotten most of the correct answers and taking it again

8 out of 10! I know my hobos!

3/10, and I found two things to be interesting/curious:
1. All of the "hobos" are frowning, and almost all of the profs are smiling.
2. I sensed intelligence in the eyes of the less fortunate ones, or at least just as much life..

I guess I'm not a very good judge of character based on first impressions...

...then again, maybe I am more than most..
