I would like to know if any of you out there could help me with the type of ships that would have been used to carry cargo on the Danube in the mid 15th century. Or if you know of any links to information, pictures would be very helpful as well. The MC in my WIP has been ordered to ship some supplies, such as food and weaponry and horses and such (for use in war), upriver from Visegrad (near Budapest) to Pozsony (Bratislava), and I have no idea what the ships would look like, or how they were navigated up and down the river or anything. I would assume since Hungary at the time kept ties to the west, especially with Italy since the king was married to an Italian, that the ships would be of a more western style, but really I don't know anything. Thanks for any and all help!
