With erotica is it best to write in 1st or 3rd person? I've read some of it but don't know if there is any protocol as such. I've ALWAYS been fascinated with Erotica and am actually going to try and write some :) It will definitely be a departure from what i've been working on.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. PM me or post here...makes no difference.

For *most* markets 3rd will be easier to sell. The obvious exception being those 'as if it were true' letters.

I'd say 3rd person too. Even in mainstream romance very few sellers in 1st person is out there.

I write most of mine in first person, and have sold a bit.

If the writing is well done, I don't know that either one is wrong.

I asked this question to a few epublisher editors recently. They said that it is most important to write the story well--but that 1st may be held to a slightly higher standard at some houses.
