The erection would be enjoyable if it wasn't for those meddling candidates.

Not the candidates so much as their advertising.

Someone on Twitter suggested the way to improve voter turnout is to open voting on October 1st, and after a person votes, their cable company blocks all campaign ads to their residence.

US politics makes me appreciate the snap elections we sometimes get in Canada. Six weeks of slightly petrified politicians talking quickly and bam, we're done.

The presidential thing does seem to gone for a loooooong time. I'm sick of it and I'm not on the same continent/haven't been barraged with ads

The problem with elections is that it involves politicians, I've always found. It only encourages them if you vote for them. This is why I suggest you write in a candidate. Like...Lemmy.

Wow, he was giving away one of Teller's secrets a hundred years beforehand!

That word doesn't even exist in Google. It can not then possibly exist in the real world.

I'm still waiting for Ray though.
I've seen him make a quarterly or so post on G+, if anyone remembers what that is. Even I post there more often than that. I think he's finally changed out of his steampunk outfit.
Now I understand why some people talk about "pulling the lever" when they vote.
So that's why people get so excited this time of year.

I voted on a Diebold touchscreen, and it wasn't nearly so good.

I prefer filling out the ballot card with a ballpoint pen. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
