Voting will open as soon as all the stories are up - you'll see 'em in the "Stories" subforum, above. The password is: holiday

Read 'em in good health, vote for the stories you love! If you want to leave a comment about something you particularly liked on the story thread, feel free -- but please don't attempt a full critique. It's not the time or the place.

Forward!

I got in with no request for any password.

Just mentioning- maybe good reason why not, but I don't know why.

So did I.

And are there just the 5 stories?

I did, too.

No- I believe they're being posted in little chunks so we're not swamped.

Ah good. Thanks Bufty.

Exactly - there's a BUNCH more stories, but no one can read that many at once, it's too hard to keep your ear sharp.

And I'll go figure out why the password isn't working. :/

How exactly do we vote? Assuming those who submitted stories are allowed to do so, of course :)

When I came in here the first time and clicked on it, it did not require a password, but today when I logged on and went there it did. So, I think it's good.

If I read it right, people who submitted stories are required to vote. And I'm sure Mac will put up more details on the voting once all the stories are up. ;)

The ones up so far are all interesting. Quite a variety.

Indeed, something to read for everybody. I really enjoyed them. :)

I'll put a bunch more up later this afternoon or tonight - I'm a bit buried in other work, just this moment.

As for voting, I'll explain the process when we open the polls. :)

Looking forward to reading more and anyone who has put a story up in SYW understands how much effort and time it takes and that's with just one story.

Started work on a long-delayed novel today; my first such attempt since 1976. Will finish it, and hope to write many more. But short stories are special, and I'm glad to see them appreciated.

How many submissions were there? Guess we'll find out once they're posted!

I might gobble them down first and then go back and give them thoughtful consideration... :)

in total, how many entries did you get?

I'm not sure, Quicklime, I haven't counted 'em. There'll be a bunch more going up tonight, though.

Okay, folks - the 19 20 stories that made it through for the vote are posted (there were some disqualifications for not meeting the criteria) -- so listen up:

IF YOU SENT ME A STORY THAT IS NOT POSTED, and you DIDN'T get an email from me telling you how and where the story missed, PM OR EMAIL ME ASAP.

:) We'll open voting tomorrow, and I'll post instructions with a board-wide announcement, then.

It was a hard choice. Some very good stories in there. Good luck to everyone participating. :)
