If anyone's bored, I put up some Kwaidan on my blog, so go read some scary stories :). Japan does it best. Here's some translated tales from the turn of the century.

Cool stuff. Kwaidan was one of my favorite books (and movie) as a kid.

Lafcadio Hearn translated and published a bunch of traditional Japanese supernatural tales, well worth reading. The Tuttle Publishing Company has produced several of these books.

But while we're on the topic of ghost stories, I'll nominate three of my favorites, all pretty famous and all in public domain, available on-line, free:
