Florida Republican Party leader receives hoax letter; FBI investigates

TAMPA, Fla. -
The FBI is joining an investigation into bogus letters sent to many Florida residents, including the Republican Party of Florida chairman, that raise questions about their eligibility to vote.
FBI officials said Wednesday the FBI will focus on letters received by voters in 18 counties in central and southwest Florida.
So far, all the letter recipients except one are republicans.

And then there's this from Virginia...

Video snags Dem boss plotting vote fraud

The son of Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va. – who serves as the field director for his father’s campaign – has been caught on video advising an undercover reporter how to fraudulently cast ballots in the name of registered voters by forging utility bills and relying on the assistance of Democrat lawyers.

Wait, they sent one to the state party chair?
I think that was the point.
What makes the mailing particularly unusual is that it targets some fairly prominent Republicans for purging from the voter rolls. According to the Tampa Bay Times, Jacksonville City Council President Bill Bishop and former U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas John Rood were among the recipients.

It's stupid, but it looks more like a stunt, someone making a point about voter suppression rather than actually trying to do it.

But seriously, I hope they catch this person. This shenanigans are not at all hilarious.

Um,where does it say anywhere in the video or story on that link that the recipients were Republicans or that the Democrats were behind this?

I saw the link and thought, 'World Nut Daily'. Oh, this will be good.

The I saw the video was made by James O'Keefe. Who, in my opinion, is a dishonest sleazebag. I didn't even bother watching. It would be as much proof of wrongdoing as a a video about how the first moon landing was a hoax.

Um, I'm afraid you don't understand the problem we at this end of the political spectrum are concerned about. We are not worried about voter fraud. We are worried about the legislative measures brought in by legislatures controlled by those at your end of the political spectrum that say they are to control voter fraud but whose actual impact is to limit the right to vote of those likely to vote against the interests of the legislators.

A zinger or criticism is more effective if aimed properly.

Nice try though.
