View Full Version : Can You Take 5 Minutes to Help me With my High School Science Project?

01-21-2006, 04:15 AM
Could you please go to http://SciProj.yes2.us (http://sciproj.yes2.us/) and participate in an experiment for my science project? Once there, you will click on a link to watch a 2-1/2 minute video. Then your browser will redirect you to a page with some questions for you to answer.

After you participate, please do not post on this topic about the purpose or content of my experiment, as it will invalidate the results.

Thank you!

Matthew Rongey

Is my computer going to crash after the 2 1/2 minuets is up?I'm leary....

01-21-2006, 04:24 AM
lol, no. This is perfectly legit. You won't be added to any spam lists or anything either. I'm just trying to get as many participants for my experiment as possible.

Hmmmm.... I don't know....

I'm afraid of what I don't understand...

01-21-2006, 04:37 AM
I've had more than 12 people who have done it so far (family members, friends, and people from other forums) and not one complaint. Will some brave soul from this forum venture out into the Unknown, return unscathed, and put these poor people's minds at rest?

01-21-2006, 04:40 AM
I'll do it, but I won't go first. Someone I know here has to try it and post what, if anything, happened.

Then I'm in it for you.

Standing by....

Another person just did it. Whether from this forum or from another, I do not know.

Edit: And another.

I did it! gasp! Omigod, I did it.....

People! Listen to me! It...

I'll do it!

Why? .... because I only fear what I do understand, which isn't much. lol

i have no speakers, does it require sound?

Way to step out on a limb! I can understand that somepeople would be leery to go to a website they have never heard of--but that's what you do every time you click a link on Google, right?

Oh, well, there's only so much I can do to try to get people to trust me. Maybe now that you and psy7ven have done it more people will be willing to try.

Speakers would be preferable, but it probably doesn't matter.

This post has been edited by mrongey, who now controls brokenfingers with remote mind control.

That would be me controlling your mind brokenfingers. I took over your mind ever since the dream thing....

Thank you so much for that quote psy7ven.

I plan on using it in court next week...

Sorry, after 36 seconds of the first video, I clicked off. I can't stand that stuff, and the thought of sitting there for another, almost 2 minutes, made me crazy.

Sorry - I'm a loser.

01-21-2006, 05:41 AM
That's ok. And no, you're not a loser. I don't mean to sound like I'm bashing anyone here but at least you were willing to give it a try.

01-21-2006, 05:50 AM
I did it!
And I lived...barely!

Ah, you're a smart kid and it was fun to participate.

01-21-2006, 05:57 AM

btw, I love your sig.

01-21-2006, 06:11 AM
Okay, I'll do it.

I didn't die! I'm still here and so is my PC.

01-21-2006, 06:12 AM
YAY! :)

01-21-2006, 06:23 AM
My brain hurts now.

01-21-2006, 07:28 AM
I did it and survived! Interesting project.

Matthew: I left a comment & question on your blog - I didn't want to post it here for fear that it would be a "spoiler".

I hope you get enough participants to generate meaningful results!

01-21-2006, 07:51 AM
Done. Interesting experiment. Look forward to hearing about the results. Are you going to be posting them here? Could be an intriguing discussion.

01-21-2006, 09:34 AM

I'm going to be collecting data for at least a month, but I could probably post some general results here after that time. However, I probably won't be able to break it down by gender and age group here on this forum, but those statistics will be in the report that I send to all the participants who give me their email addresses.

Good for you! You can talk all you want about it at the blog and forum, though!

01-21-2006, 12:12 PM
Done, and I commented on the blog.

01-21-2006, 05:00 PM
Good luck with your project.

01-21-2006, 05:12 PM
Cool idea! Good luck. :)

01-22-2006, 04:28 AM
What are you scaredy cats so afraid of? I did it without a second thought. My computer is still functioning. I'm still functioning.

Take me to your leader.

01-22-2006, 04:34 AM
Actually, quite a few people have done it. I guess once one took the leap they all decided it was ok.

01-22-2006, 04:47 AM
Good luck on your project! It was quite interesting.

01-22-2006, 04:55 AM
