How do you decide when one chapter ends and another one begins? this is going to sound stupid I think but oh well.
I am working on writing my life story and I have been dividing up the chapters based on sections of my life but some of the chapters are quite long when I am the reader I like short chapters because I use them as a place to pause reading. What do you think? Is there a proper form for breaking up a book into chapters?

I think it's pretty much up to you, the author, as to how to do this. Personally, I use change of scene, change of time, change of subject, change of character, etc., as places to make a break. Some of them are merely scene breaks, but if it is a big enough change, and feels better to make a chapter break, I do it. Most of my chapters are 10 to 12 pages, double spaced, but some are shorter and some longer.
