Richard Armitage (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0035514/) has a dream project to make a pre-quel to the BBC Tudors series. Seems that Mr A was named for Richard III as he was born on August 22, the date of the Battle of Bosworth and the date of Richard III's death.

I really think it would be a huge success - especially following on from Mr A's role in the forthcoming film The Hobbit.

Any thoughts?

Has this anything to do with them digging up a car park in leicester?

No, Richard Armitage has been kicking this idea around for a while. I hope it comes to fruition. I'd love to see it!

I agree, a good idea. They've got a lot to work with, it certainly was interesting times back then. Could be better than the Tudors, me thinks.

It will be better than the Tudors - mainly because it will be about the Plantagenets!

Wonder how they'll deal with the princes in the tower. Did he do it? Didn't he do it?

If it got 'The Tudors' treatment, no doubt they'd have him murder the princes in the most gruesome way possible, such is the way of HBO productions.
If it gets the Armitage treatment, someone else will kill the princes.

I do not think that Mr A would go with HBO on anything that would impugn Richard III's reputation. I wonder if he could get the BBC to finance the film . . . and also wonder about Peter Jackson producing and/or directing. If it is made I would hope it would get a royal premiere.
