Woo! You can really tell Autumn is here. The weather has turned in just the last week from balmy and dry to POURING AND FREEZING.

And there were dozens of brown rats in the corn fields yesterday... all just sitting on the stalks watching us as we walked past. Getting as much food in them while they can, I suppose.

Or waiting for he who walks behind the rows/rose.

Sorry. Sorry! The horror writer in me had to peak out for a bit ;)

Blessed Mabon to you all!

It's amazing how the weather changed here right after Mabon. Before, it was definitely summer, with warm wind and clear skies and all, and the day after Mabon there was an enormous thunderstorm and the temperatures sank. Time to hide in my room with a hot chocolate and listen to the rain fall! ;)

By the way, great to find some fellow Pagans on a writing forum. Blessed Be to you all.

Hi everyone *waves shyly*

I'm super late to the party, but...at least I'm here, right? I picked a couple pounds of apples on Mabon that'll hopefully become apple butter tomorrow; you're all more than welcome to some! I've never made apple butter before but I'm hoping it'll be perfectly autumn-ly delicious anyway :)

Merry we meet! Welcome to our little corner of AW ;)

I love apple butter! I make it every season! What a great tradition.

I also harvest two apples and slice them through the middle to show the pentacle. I then dry them on my altar, and when they are ready I place them in the four corners of my house as a blessing and nod to turn of the wheel. I save the previous year's apples and toss them into the yule fire.

Lovely to meet you ~

Cheers!

Blessed Mabon, a bit late. I've been up to my elbows in Pagan Newswire Collective work, and my ritual involved just getting caught up on my life!

A Blessed (belated) Mabon to all!

It is hitting me very hard that this is my last fall in England, before returning to the U.S. next year. It's been a lovely year and a half, and watching the leaves turn is making me nostalgic.

Our seasons are one of the reasons I don't think I could live abroad. I know other countries have similar cycles, but it never looks or feels quite the same. Maybe I just get nostalgia goggles about my own home, though.

Fortunately the seasons here in England are *just* like the seasons back home in Massachusetts (though next spring I'm getting dragged to Nebraska to settle down for the rest of my life... All I can think is corn and angry religious children. Darn you, Stephen King. Darn you.).

I'm embracing this time of endings and new beginnings whole-heartedly: flowing from the gratitude of Mabon into the endings at Samhain, the dark time until Yule, and then having a baby right after that. Quite the timing!

Thanks, Foinah!

Seriously, when did Mabon arrive? I swear, it was Litha just yesterday. ;)
