Tomorrow, I begin my new full-time job as a tech support specialist with a door and window hardware company in southern California. According to the HR supervisor, their tech support department lost one technician to a promotion and another was let go for "performance issues". With the mad rush to convert their Windows XP PCs to Windows 7, there will be plenty of overtime and 6-day work weeks.
Of course, it also didn't hurt that one of the guys who interviewed me is a Mac fan who supports Windows users for a living (just like I did in my last job), and that the Chief Information Officer is about my age.
