I ride my bike I rollerskate don't drive no car. Don't go too fast but I go pretty far. For someone who doesn't drive I've been all around the world. Some people say I've done all right for a girl.

now don't tell anybody. I started listening to Melanie when I was nine. Melanie and Joni Mitchell are my favorites ever.

I have every studio album/CD she ever made. There's 25 or so of them believe it or not. I saw her a few years ago, she could still hit all the high notes. She's 64 now.

Anyway TMI but she has an amazing voice but she was always really out in left field and her personality is too, love her.

She has a son, he accompanies her on tour. He is absolutely DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. He's a hybrid of a hippie idealistic almost thirty year old, long hair and sorta "wow man stoney" face on top of a perfect gym body. I've never seen that hybrid before or since.

When you stop laughing because Melanie is my favorite I'd like to increase my credibility by saying I love Stevie Nicks, Sinead O'Connor, Rickie Lee Jones, Carly Simon, Dido, Big Mama Thorton, Adele...

or maybe that decreases my credibility lol.

I am sooooo delighted. I've never met anyone who says they love Joni Mitchell. I have all her CDs too. Have you ever seen the wonderful ballet DVD where its all her music?

Of course For the Roses and Court and Spark are fantastic. My favorite CD will always be Hejira but I liked parts of Dog Eat Dog and Night Ride Home very strong too as favorites. She's a very angry, bitter person, the poor dear in interviews.

I totally get that. I love hearing those stories. She had a small, rabid audience.

the most prophetic of all:

I write poetry too. Albany has a large wonderful poetry community, open mics galore etc.

Wow fantastic KTC. I will look at that link. What a great idea you did that.

Song For Sharon and the title track Hejira holy macaroni a zillion poems inspired from those two songs alone.

...those tributes to finality, to eternity." And the last verse of Song For Sharon - holy macaroni that is a life theme.

I'm glad to hear your poetric community is thriving. I'm in Durham Region just outside Toronto, Ontario. The Writers' Community of Durham Region is an AMAZING community here. We have open mics, etc. too. We're lucky. (-:
