Hello all,

I'm keep coming up with these preference questions lately. Don't know why, but I've been trying to think in in the mind of an agent lately, ha!

I was wondering what font formatting is preferred for a manuscript submission.

I've heard some like Courier New, while some prefer only Times New Roman. If those two are accepted, which font do you want to avoid completely...disregarding wingdings and comic sans of course lol.

Unless an agent specifies, in the US you should choose between only Courier and TNR. In the UK, Arial/Helvetica also seems to be fairly widely accepted.

If an agent specifies, sent them what they ask for....even if it's the dreaded Comic Sans. :D

Unless an agent specifies which font to use in their submission guidelines you're not going to be rejected just because you used the wrong font. Unless you used Dingbats.

Having said that, TNR, Ariel, and similar are easy on the eye and don't get in the way of the reader.
