This is for "Clueless," #3 in a series, 71,000 words. PM if you wish to read and comment. I use Word with Tracking Changes. If you have something ready, we can trade beta readings.

The book includes suspense, action, humor, a touch of mostly non-explicit romance, and a smidgeon of adult language.

Here's the blurb du jour:

Dead young women are piling up in a small suburban city, one every three months, their throats slashed, their bodies desecrated.

Soft-boiled, hard-drinking private detective Stanley Bentworth finds himself entangled in an intensive investigation of the serial killings when the most recent victim turns out to be the missing teen-aged daughter of a client.

When Stan’s former homicide partner asks him to rejoin the department, Stan plunges into an intensive search for a killer whose obsessions with the cultures of his youth compel him to snuff the lives of young women with precision and regularity, leaving only enigmas to confound the detective and no useful clues to aid in his capture.

The Slasher steps up his schedule, and Stanley and his team of inexperienced homicide detectives find themselves under heavy pressure to find the killer and rescue the next victim in time to save her from the Slasher’s knife.

If they fail, Stan not only loses the job he worked so hard to get back, but the killings continue, and the once peaceful town’s panicked citizens will lock themselves in at night, afraid of the dark, fearful of the next senseless killing, never knowing when, where, and who it will be.

I've just cleared my decks so I've got some evenings for this. Mail me at the usual address and I should be able to get it back to you within a week.

I don't have time at the moment, but if I did I would.

So here's a plug for Al instead. I beta read a book for him before and it was a great experience. The book was very entertaining with minimal glitches.

Al was easy to work with and grateful (it would not be cool to beta for someone and have your efforts ignored.)

So if you have time, I think you won't be disappointed if you beta for Al.

Thank you, Leslie. I wish you had the time. You were a lot of help to me on that other one.

Not sure if I'm having problems with my email system. Did you get my feedback?

Yes, Rob. Thank you so much. I owe you one. Or is it two? Or three?
