I'm so ecstatic, I needed to share with everybody:

I recently started as an intern at a publishing house (amazing news in itself for me!). One of my first tasks was copyediting a book that is soon to be released. I ended up making some bigger editorial suggestions rather than just simple copyedits.

Now I just found out that the author not only took on my edits, but is thanking me in her acknowledgments! My name will appear in print. In a book. Being thanked by an author. Me, an intern. :Wha::Jaw::eek:

Hurrah! Plus, given that you presumably want to stop being an intern at some point and maybe be a full time editor, this has got to look good for the people above you who might decide to one day pay you a proper salary...

Congrats! I really love reading the acknowledgments in books - sometimes I actually skip to the back to read them first :)
