Just watched the first episode of "The Newsroom." I found it very confusing and hard to follow - or am I just getting old?

I saw it. It's typical Sorkinesque stuff, from the fast pace to the generational confusion. I'm kind of on the fence about it, just based on Sorkin behaving badly (http://gawker.com/5921033/aaron-sorkin-calls-female-reporter-internet-girl-is-a-condescending-prick) during this interview with a young woman (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/television/how-to-get-under-aaron-sorkins-skin-and-also-how-to-high-five-properly/article4363455/). I find his behavior at odds with the way he has written female characters, but I haven't watched much he's done besides Sports Night and a few episodes of West Wing.

Loved the first episode. Favorite part was at the beginning when he answered the question, "What makes America the greatest country in the world?"

Oh, I could watch that part over and over again. I think I am going to like this series. And I love the fast-paced world of news.

He's being a big jerk, here, sure, but the guy who wrote that Gawker article about him sounds like a real you-know-what, too.

Seriously? Hard to follow?

The following sentence sums up the show, imho.

Hey, America, wake the fuck up and stop being distracted by the three-ring circus, and start paying attention to the facts and only the facts.

We are a sick world when we don't understand what's right there in black and white. Grey? Meh. Grey is denial, doubt, doublethink. But I digress.

Lyx--it's a quality show, well-written, but does, at times, border agenda-ism.

'The Newsroom' sounds like a better fit for an Aaron Sorkin show than 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' in which he took a behind-the-scenes-at-a-comedy-show setting and tried to use that to preach about issues. I thought at the time that it would have been more natural as a news show, or a current-events show.
I watched 'S60onSS' because I loved 'West Wing', but I was so glad when it was over, and I didn't have to keep sticking with it in case it got better. It didn't.

The characters yell at each other way too much and Olivia Munn needs to learn that there's more to acting than "look sultry". Even if sultry is something she does well.

I like it. I feel it compliments its audience by not treating us as goldfish or morons.

I really enjoyed the first season. Looking forward to season 2.
