Hello everyone!
I just wanted to share this with *someone* because I thought it was hilarious and awesome. I hope this is the right place to post it!
I'm a second grade teacher, and at the moment I’m teaching my class how to write narratives. This is the scene from my classroom today.
[Kids are sitting on the carpet, watching me with their wide-eyed ‘teach me’ expressions]
Me: Okay, so who can remember what comes first in a narrative?
[20 hands shoot up]
Me: Yes, {generic child A}?
Generic child A: The title!
Me: That’s correct! What comes next?
[Same 20 hands wave around in the air]
Generic child B: The orientation! The who, what, when and why!
Me: Wonderful!
[This continues until…]
Me: How do we finish our stories? What comes at the end of the story?
Superkid, who absolutely made my day: The concussion!
Some days, Superkid, I think you are 100% correct. You get the gold star!
