Twenty Years Together

Raise a glass or cup--doesn't matter what's in it--to 13th Precinct, my writing group which is today celebrating twenty years of continuous meetings to critique the mystery, suspense, and thriller fiction of its members.

We've searched but never found another group which lasted this long with the same membership. (We did not count critique groups in continuous operation but none of the same people participating the whole time.)

We've had lots of ups and downs, a major schism, and one death, but the few hardy survivors have weathered it with continued optimism. We went from no sales of any kind to multiple sales apiece.

We'll be raising wine glasses this afternoon (yes, we have a designated driver) and invite you to join in toasting the benefits of support from like-minded writers.

21 Years and Counting

Wednesday the 13th Precinct group celebrated its 21st anniversary. We stated writing goals for the coming year and shared a bottle of wine over a nice meal.
