I'm looking for another beta or two for my women's fiction novel. It is 83,000 words.

Query in progress. (http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244729) Still needs work.

(http://A short excerpt)

I'm looking for overall comments, not a line-by-line critique.

Examples of women's fiction authors I like: Liza Palmer, Jennifer Weiner, Melissa Bank.

I am happy to do a swap for a manuscript under 110,000 words. Preferrably romance (contemporary or historical; erotic is fine), women's fiction (including chick lit) or mainstream/contemporary. I read very little MG, YA, science fiction, fantasy, mystery/crime, so I don't think I would be the best beta for these projects. If you do not have a manuscript ready now, I can beta for you at a later date.

We can start with 1-3 chapters if you prefer.

PM me if interested.

"Women's fiction" is a category/genre within which certain types of books are classified and marketed. You can read a good explanation of the category here (http://pimpmynovel.blogspot.co.nz/2009/08/genre-specific-sales-part-7-of-8-womens.html).

Ah, now I understand. It's an umbrella term for any market aimed at women -- chick lit, erotica, romance, etc.
