Clever story - hope you'll go read it. I got the link from John Scalzi's Whatever. He gets a brief mention in the story.
As an aside, John has a book out called Agent to the Stars. He tells the tale of why he wrote it and has it available free online at his website. It's a fun read (says the proud owner of copy 1316 of 1500 limited edition signed hardback versions of same).
My favorite author blogs are listed in my sidebar. I visit Scalzi and Gaiman quite often. They talk alot about the world of writing but they also give you a peek into their lives. It's encouraging. These are real folks with families. They get colds, have pets, shovel snow. I'm glad they find the time to blog.
