Just a fun survey. List 10 interesting or useful things to be found in or on your writing desk (or other surface).
Here's mine (I have one of those antique cabinet desks with a million cubby holes and drawers):
1. mini container of blue play-doh
2. yellowed paperback dictionary/thesaurus
3. a 1903 edition of "The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" (that I've never read)
4. 9 mini-notebooks, only one of which is currently in use
5. a set of colored pencils
6. a collection of fortune cookie fortunes (that I liked)
7. a stack of bookmarks that I will use someday
8. 1 pencil and 1 pen
9. a lone paperclip
10. an unopened stack of index cards that I've had for years
