Welcome to 2006, everyone!

What are your writing goals, big and small, for this year? My co-author and I will be having a busy year, and completing everything will be a challenge (can't give any details yet, as we still have to sign on the dotted line(s), but it should be a lot of fun!)

How about the rest of you? New WIPs, seeking an agent, changing agents, sending in your very first query? What does everybody have on their resolution list?

My goals. . .

1) Getting my two currently agented manuscripts sold (wish me luck);

2) Finishing/polishing my current WIP, and then getting THAT sold (maybe I'll sell THREE books this year!

3) Completing at least one more category romance manuscript by the end of the year.

I intend to crank out novellas for epublishing, one a month--and develop a novel to submit to the mid-level print publisher.

My goals:

To write at least 25 pages per week. (To complete at least 2 manuscripts to my very demanding expectations. <G>)

To find an agent.

To make at least one sale.

Let's toss in the lose weight and exercise on a regular basis, too, even though those aren't writing. <G> It all relates to the writing, though. The better I feel, the better I can work. :)

There. Now I'm accountable to all of you for this. :)

I only have one goal for this year:

Not give up!

I'm going to find a home for my manuscript and finish two I've been working on.

1) To improve my writing so I don't have to depend on my husband so much for all of his fantastic polishing and revision

2) Get an agent for either him or the both of us

3) Get a multi-book deal for our paranormal romance

4) Safely deliver our daughter (we're preggers--6.5 months and counting!)

Goals?

After last year when every plan went totally awry am tempted to say we don't need no stinkin' goals. But ever the optimist -
My goals are to meet deadlines and keep writing. That's as much as I can handle right now.

Introduced myself in newbies but here it is again - Working writer 10+ years, 21 novels, 4 pen names, 5 publishers, no patridge in a pear tree yet.
Have contracts to complete this year and hope to get new ones, really would love to have a runaway bestseller but that's not the kind of goal one can set, huh?

Congrats on babies, of the human and creative kinds.
Here's to a wonderful new year in writing!

I plan on writing some romantic short stories and submitting them for pay and publication while I steadily work on my first romance novel. A new genre for a new year. :)

I still plan on writing poetry and greeting card copy too.

Goals

1) Get an agent. (got one last year, but it didn't pan out. Drat!)

2) Finish at least 2 of my WIPs. (Both are half finished)

3) If goal #1 is successful, then do my best to get said ms sold.

Like Susan, I'd really like to drop 20+ pounds.

Congrats Clara! I wish you and hubby all the best with the new little one!:e2cat:

1. Get an agent! (Now if the ones that have my ms would just play along nicely...)

2. Polish my other publish-worthy novel and send it out too.

3. Write & polish at least another novel.

4. Author website! Must make one this year!

5. If I need more to do after all that, I have a fantasy novel that I can polish up and send off for queries as well.

Oh, and lose weight, blah blah blah.

Great thread - everyone's goals are so inspiring!

I have one goal for 2006, writing-wise: finish my first draft.

All other potential goals hang off that one. I'm about half way through at the moment, but am hoping the hubby's two months overseas in Jan-Feb will give me the spare time I need to push ahead.
