I despise REO Speedwagon, but I loved it when they played, "Roll With The Changes" in CABIN IN THE WOODS! It was so funny!

Do you have any songs you think are terrible, except when they play in certain scenes in movies?

Another one I can think of is "Naughty, Naughty" by John Parr:

EW! The epitome of 80's cheese!

But check it out in this bar scene in Near Dark:

See? Now it's badass!

If I think a song's terrible, I'm just going to think it's terrible, no matter the context. I loathe REO Speedwagon, as well, and if I saw Cabin in the Woods and their song came up? I'd just sit there and think "God, that song is teh suxx0rz. Why'd they ruin the movie like that?"

I'm more likely to notice a great song in an otherwise mediocre movie, like hearing Love's "Alone Again Or" in Bottle Rocket. Not a terrible movie, but nothing to write home about. Great song, though.

BTW, I'm no fan of the speedwagoneers, either. I don't care enough about them to despise them, but I wouldn't cross the street to hear a free concert.

Ridin' the Storm Out is good though. Can't really argue with that.

Wow, lot of Speedwagon hate. I despise them as well, haha, but it reminded me of another song I hate but movie I love.

I can't stand "Stroke Me" by Billy Squier, but I love the scene in "Billy Madison" where Billy is blaring it as he pulls up to high school (wearing the REO Speedwagon shirt).

KC and the Sunshine Band's I'm Your Boogie Man was never so cool as it was in Watchmen:

I'm not a fan of Bad Company, in general, but their greatest hits to the soundtrack of Scotland, PA is exceptional.
