Disclaimer: I'm an intern at Musa, and I have contracted two stories with them, so am pimping the publisher for all its worth.

Thanks for posting--I'm pleased to see the 5000k or above guideline, as I'd love to find a home for some of my shorter pieces.

I'm considering them for a 5100-word story, but I'm waiting on word from the last market it went to.

According to Musa's web site, submissions are actually closed, at least for SF and YA genres:

So I have time to bounce it to another market, then. Cool!

Submissions are closed ONLY for the Euterpe YA imprint and the Urania spec fic imprint until June 15 and ONLY to unsolicited submissions. Both imprints have release schedules set through the end of 2012 already. Those closings were announced and set last night.

However--GLBT YA books can still be submitted--those books will be sent to the YA line of Erato, our GLBT imprint--and we are not only actively seeking those stories but are assertively pursuing books that encompass GLBT and YA.

We are also really wanting to see historical fiction (romance or otherwise), paranormal and horror, and commercial fiction (women's fiction, literary *a lumping together of genres if there ever was one*--including chapbooks, and romance at all heat levels.
