Prior to undergoing his heart transplant operation, Cheney recorded the plans that had been arranged by himself, Rove, Wolfowitz and others to assume permanent control of the U.S. Government in 2008 by staging a phony terrorist attack--nuclear--on Las Vegas and having Bush assassinated while at Crawford.

Shocking, isn't it?

Those of us with properly-tuned tinfoil hats have heard the recordings. The plan was cancelled when it was revealed that the Las Vegas city council was aware of the plans and had already prepared a $3-trillion dollar urban renewal request to be filed from their secret bunker in Pahrump, NV in the immediate aftermath, with an informal memo of support attached, signed by The Families. I figure they didn't want to buck the real power in the country.

Would that lead to Mr House taking over, and appointing The Families to run the remaining casinoes?

Pff, no worries for me. I have piles upon piles of Grognak comics, so I should be able to punch the lights out of Cheney (considering he doesn't shoot me in the face).

Well, to me, the solution seems obvious.

Call Jack Bauer.

Figures...

But why bomb Vegas? Isn't NYC a much juicier target?
One word.

Banksters.

[Cheney]
The only people in Las Vegas are gamblers and hookers, and who cares about gamblers and hookers?

Not really. It confirms what I feared at the time. The only difference was that I thought Bush was in on the plot.
....
Sooooooo, I really wasn't that paranoid after all.

Yeah I get that...

But think of all the hippie-liberals he could wipe out. I mean, NY probably houses a good 80 percent of all US liberals. What a score!

Cleverly protected by the human shield of Wall Street bankers. There's no way they'd take out the money people just to get the liberals.

And by the way. New York liberals are not, in general, hippies. Indeed, the actual hippies had nothing but contempt for everyday liberals.

If he wanted to go that route, he'd have picked Los Angeles, since that would also take out Hollywood.

Hollywood! Where all the right wing, hooray let's go kill us some <insert bad guy du jour> movies are made.

Hollywood people may on average be liberal, but they're certainly willing to cater to Cheneyesque war mongering if they can make a buck on it.

I should have added a :sarcasm

Yeah. Sometimes it's tough to tell around here. Thanks for clearing that up. Although, I do find it interesting that there are solid reasons by conservatives wouldn't want to get rid of what they claim are the twin bastions of evil: New York and LA.

Even real conservatives know where all the fun is...

Texas, usually
My birthday is April Fool's day (no joke) and I usually LOVE this place on April first, but sadly (or not, hehe) I was away from my computer all day.

Good one, Rob. :)
