Can't figure out how he got to my patio. Our lake doesn't have crawdads, definitely none this size in March, but here he is. My cat is freaking out.

I'm still guessing he was picked up by a bird and dropped along the way.

I can't think of a more logical scenario, so I have to say you must be right. :)

(I should go check on the cat - make sure he still has ears, tail, paws. He can't leave it alone.)

Is there a creek that feeds into the lake?

nope.
even if it did come from the lake, it just baffles me it would be by the house.

I recall some big birds were fishing yesterday. One of them might have decided it made a mistake. :)

Call your local seafood restaurant...one of their lobsters is missing!

I don't recall seeing crawdads that big in south GA in July.

Wow! Amazing critter.

So how did such a monster of a crawdad get to your backyard? Sounds like a great topic for a short story.

i don't usually see them that big here either - no matter the time of year. I have no idea how he ended up in my backyard.

He's disappeared now. Either the cats got the best of him or he scurried away while they weren't looking.

I won't be barefoot in my yard for a while. :)

Mr. Stew told the boys he's going to get more of them and they'll be the new "alarm clock" in the mornings. LOL!

Little Stew told his younger brother they'd have to sleep wearing a cup from now on. :D
