I've continued to look at Harlequin/Silhouette's "online reads." Some of the books have numerous typos, grammos, misspellings, transposed words, and other mistakes in editing and proofreading. They have flaws at the level of story, too, sometimes big ones, but I'll leave that aside because I have little experience as a developmental editor.
I'm sure I could do better for them than whoever's doing it now. I live inconveniently far from their offices, like a few thousand miles. Do they use freelance editors and proofreaders?
