I'm polishing my query letter for my first novel, and I'd like to know what agents and other writers really think about targeting an audience/comparing my work to successful authors. It seems awkward and presumptuous to tell an agent that "readers of Stephen King will love Blood Vengeance!" Do they really look for that in a query?
