I appreciate your hospitality during my business trip to your charming city of Minneapolis. People are friendly, food is great, and I'm always grateful for a chance to visit a part of country I've never seen before.

But please, stop trying to convince me that this is a "mild winter." It's going to be 7 degrees when I wake up tomorrow morning. I'm about to file a restraining order against the winter. I looked out the window of my hotel room and saw the ghosts of Napoleon's army retreating across the Berezina River. I understand that it's relatively mild by your usual standard, the same way a punch in the face is relatively mild to a guy who's used to being beaten daily with a spiked baseball bat. But to a humble Texan like me, it's still a punch in the face.

In summary: It's *$%!ng cold outside.

When folks from Minnesota visit the south and complain of how warm the climate is, you'll have your revenge! ;)

Travel safe, good sir.

Say hey to the twins for me.

Oh, wait.... the Twins.

Yeah, that's it.

You had my sympathy until you got to "humble Texan." There is no such thing; or, at least, no one has ever met one.

Just curious, JC,

What did you eat that was great?

(for some reason I just imagine potatoes and sausage when I think of Minnesota cuisine)

No, not the Spam museum though, years and years ago, I happened to be in Austin and got dangerously close to the Hormel plant. I only recall that the smell was not appealing. Hope they've cleared that up by now...

No, no, that wasn't the factory, that was just Texas.

Sorry. Austin, Minnesota. Home of Hormel and Spam.
