BURIAL OF NON MUSLIM BY A MUSLIM

This question is for our Muslim brothers and sisters. If a non Muslim man is killed by or in the presence of a Muslim(s). How would his body be treated? Would it be washed in the traditional manner, assuming there is time? What does the Qur'an say on the subject? The phrase, Reverse your heart for the dead. comes to mind, but I've no idea where I read that.
I've googled this but I'm not coming up with anything I can use. There are plenty of links about handling the body of a Muslim believer. Any other links you know of would be very helpful.

My Muslim husband and I (not a Muslim) have discussed how we'd like to be / must be buried. As far as he's concerned, he has to be buried the traditional Muslim way (and I have no problem with that), but I choose how I will be buried. He's not about to inflict his burial beliefs on me, and there is nothing in the Qu'ran that I know of that says otherwise.
