Greets all,

Short stories up to 5,000 words & flash fiction up to 500 words are being accepted for "Battlespace," an anthology of military science fiction. Submissions go until March 20. The book is being published by my podcast, The Science Fiction Show.

EDIT (to add rates of pay): Short stories accepted for publication will receive $20. Accepted flash fiction pieces received will receive $5.

All (100 percent) proceeds from book sales go to the Warrior Cry Music Foundation. The foundation helps wounded American soliders get rehabilitation through music, including buying musical instruments and other means.

Hi jst -- could you please edit your post to put the pay rate (for writers) in the title of the thread? Or, if by "all (100 percent) proceeds from book sales go to the Warrior Cry Music Foundation" you mean that authors are not being paid at all, could you note that and ask a moderator to move this to the NonPaying Markets subsection?

thanks!

Edited. Thanks for the catch!

Would you consider a civilian member of the resistance to have a strong enough military tie?

Dolores, yes. So long as there's some identifiable military element to some part of the story, we'd welcome it. :) Thank you for asking!

Also, we have a bit of a teaser video we hope you'll share with fellow Science Fiction and Speculative Fiction writers to encourage them to submit:

Good cause - I'll take a crack at getting something ready.

Fantastic. Thank you! We'd love to offer more as payment for acceptances, but we're pulling payments out of our own hides to do it and our budget is limited. Writers will, of course, receive contracts saying that we're only asking for the right mentioned on the submission page.

By the way, we use the SubMishMash submission engine for submissions.

Hi folks, a bit less than a month to go. The submissions we've peeked at so far are bonzer and we're excited about the turnout up to now. However, there's still room for your short story or flash fiction piece!

Note: from your link, looks like the submission period has been extended to March 20.

Sounds like a very worthy cause. I'll try and come up with a story!
