Check out "Bedtime Story," the first one posted. It's a good read, but there is a flaw. The stories are supposed to take place in the 1930s, but pantyhose didn't come on the scene until the 1960s! This just goes to prove how tricky it can be setting your story in another era, and it calls for a lot of diligent research.

Midnightoil, I appreciate you're new here, but can I suggest you take some time to get a feel for the room. Story Research is a great place to ask for information or expert opinion, but it's not the best place to discuss the perils and pitfalls of setting or writing. You might want to visit Roundtable if you want to strike up that discussion.

Secondly, I'm not comfortable with criticizing or critiquing a piece of work not specifically posted for critique by the author, and especially to from a site other than AW. If you want to discuss published work, the AW Bookclub is the best place to visit.
