I found myself googling my own username on here out of curiosity, and noticed something...

Cute, but odd.

This is cute. And flattering! I've googled other people on here and found similarly lovely little statements associated with their names on AW.

But I can't see these comments anywhere on the site, and now the nosey part of my brain wants to know more about them!

How sweet, in an odd Easter-eggy sort of way.

Oh cool! That's really sweet, too. And useful. A handy, hidden bonus feature.

It's magic Bunny. AW has tiny gnomes that come in at night and post the comments in invisible ink that only google can read.

We get gnomes, too?!

Man, I love this place. What's my gnome like? Does he have a name? Can I give him a name?

AW is the bestest.

Mine looks like a gremlin in a funny hat. If you leave out punch and cookies, your gnome will you a visit. You can ask his name then, but never give him milk. They are lactose intolerant. And no one wants a gnome with an upset stomach.

Hmmm I don't have punch. What about Christmas cake and a cup of tea? I have lemon for the tea if he can't have milk in it...

Now that I think about it, cake or cookies, means a sugared up gnome. Hide your breakables.

The tea should be okay, lemon is fine as long as he doesn't have a citrus allergy.

:)

If you turn off images in your browser, you can see all of them written here, btw. When I use my aircard, I have a data limit, so I noticed that.

Also if you mouse over the spot directly under the P in Posts for each user, you'll see those comments.

... You can ask his name then

But if he tells you his name, you'll have to give him your first-born son. http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif

But that's only if you call him by his name in front of an elf and you don't make him a spinach salad with boiled eggs and bacon bits.

Considering how my first-born son behaved this morning, that's not necessarily a bad thing...

Gnomes give me the heebie-jeebies.

A box full of rocks wrapped in festive paper is a way of letting him know he's special and what you think of his behavior.

If you have a dog or cat, there are other options for the contents of the box.

If you have gerbils or mice or hamsters, you can also vary those contents. But it takes a little more work.

The Bunny post made me search Google for my own username. Amongst other things it brought up an old thread called Extracting the Urine from Unsuspecting Peoples. I'd probably be concerned about my reputation if I had one.

I blame scarletpeaches.

I guess I'm safe, then. Unless he counts cats in that.

That little extra effort and care helps express your true feelings and sends a definite message.:)

That's neat. I've been on here over a year now and had no idea. I like little hidden things like that. It makes me wonder if I've missed any other types of things like that on here.
