If a mentor is any/all of these things, then I really need one:
-checks email/pm's/smoke signals at least once a day
-can answer my insanely stupid questions without poking too much fun at me
-tolerates stupidity (see above)
-understands humor (and extreme frustration pretending to be humor)
-very patient if I need clarification on something (sometimes it's hard to comprehend things with a toddler jumping on your head)
If a mentor is none of these things...could you enlighten me on what a mentor is and what I am looking for, if there's a word for it other than a brain and/or therapy?
Yes, I could always ask my idiotic questions on AW, but I have a million and I'm sure you guys don't want to hear from me that much.
Plus, my questions are really specific to what I'm writing and will require quite a bit of familiarity with my world and numerous characters, so it would just be easier to deal with one person.
