If you've been following the Aspen Mountain Press threads here on AW, you'll know what's been going on with them. In a nutshell, I'd noticed my contract had been breached by the publisher so I sent two letters and an email asking her to take care of it. Along the way, the publisher has been acting...erratic (understatement of the century) and suspended operations. During that time, I'd sent a final letter letting her know that I'd invoked a clause in my contract and the rights to my first novel But I Never Said I Didn't Love You had reverted because the situation with the contract breach hadn't been rectified.
Also, while all of this was going on, I'd finished a rewrite on another NaNo project and sent Kitchen Witch, another m/m romance but with urban fantasy overtones this time, off to Musa Publishing. So I not only had to contend with a wait over Aspen Mountain and that nonsense, I also had the wait of a new submission. See me smile, doncha wish u wuz me, etc.
Earlier this week, I'd received word that But I Never Said I Didn't Love You has been rescued by Musa Publishing and will be re-released. About six hours after that, I'd also received that Musa will also be releasing Kitchen Witch. So, yeah, not one but TWO contracts this week.
Again, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everybody here at AW. Your advice, friendship, and virtual cookies and hugs have been a tremendous help during my journey as an author. I couldn't have done this without youse guys, and I appreciate everything you've done. As my partner Peter told me this afternoon, I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas gift this year!
