Innnteresting!

(I just realised that's one of the "uh-oh" comments, so I'd just like to add I mean that in a good way!)

Very eye-catching. Nicely done.

I ... er ... do hope the use of Buddhist religious imagery relates?

It catches the eye, and the watchface motif clearly links it to the first book of the series. So I'd say it's working.

It does indeed. I was in Cambodia a while back, and I met this young monk (about 16) who lamented about how so many of the artifacts in Cambodia were being sold on black markets. He was just doing a year as a monk (I forget what he said that was called but I believe there was a name for it) ... anyway, he said when he finished he wanted to go into a field of work that would help recover some of those items. It got me thinking ...

In the book, the Buddha head is the stolen relic.

Whew. Then I can unabashedly say I think it's a very good cover. Nice use of color, atmosphere, & imagery and it harmonizes well with the first book.

Spending a year or so as a monk or nun seems pretty common in that part of the world. I can't remember what it's called either, but I've run across it before.

I was asked a while ago who the artist was for these covers, and I wasn't sure how things worked in that regard, i.e. if I was allowed to mention the artists name (what? I'm not an artist. Maybe they like their solitude and anonymity :) ). ... anyway, I just learned that the cover artist for my series has opened up shop for herself. Here's the site for those who are interested.
