Anyone ever watch these? Just discovered them on Youtube. Hilarious!

And today I can't get the Richard III song out of my head :)

There's a TV series??? I'd read the books in middle school and found them really insightful -- and funny! I'll have to check this out.

defcon, I didn't know there was a book series! :). Good to know-

Anyway, check out the clips on Youtube if you can-my faves are "Terrible Tudors" and "Slimy Stuarts."

Book series came first, the TV series is quite recent. It is out on DVD (I know this because a friend of mine bought them and uses them in teaching a lot...).

I'm quite fond of the Boudicca song myself:

I caught these a few months back [when I was going through a phase of depression.] I loved them, Terry Deary is a genius in my opinion. :)

Songs? Oh, I have to find these. The books were great!

(BTW, just picked up at a charity sale what may be the Worst Boudicca Cover Art Ever, a lurid '50s paperback called (if I recall right) "Pagan Queen" with a hot pinup platinum blonde babe vaguely like Claudette Colbert's Cleopatra, with a painful-looking upside-down gold metal fringe rather like a cupcake paper over her bust.)

My favorite!

I love 'Horrible Histories'. My son giggles the whole way through.

How is it that we have a thread about Horrible Histories, and no one's mentioned the Wives of Henry VIII yet?

Divorced, beheaded and died...
Divorced, beheaded, survived!
I'm Henry the Eighth, I had six sorry wives,
Some might say that I ruined their lives!

There is also the Viking song which is, appropriately enough, done in the style of scandinavian death metal :)

I've got lots of them saved as favorites -- I must play the Dick Turpin (www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KbXyALq7uA) song every day, ditto Cleopatra (www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQVa1Nb0eKI).

Nobody mentioned The 4 Georges yet? Born 2 rule - my son can recite it word for word, which in turn means I hum it throughout the day.
