Since I'm Mrs. Scrooge I'd almost rather you all say "Get Scrooged"... as long as you mean it the way I'm thinking... :Ssh:

Now I must go wash my mind out with some heavy duty soap...

Dare I ask what the green stuff is that you use in Pastafarian Pesto?

All of them. There are some people who need to "get Scrooged" at Christmas.
Merry Christmas is used most often in my home, though.

Where can I buy 'GET SCROOGED' holiday cards?

Picture this. A 33 year old man sitting on Santa's lap somewhere in a Mall. The caption reads: ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY BIRTHDAY BACK.

I'm saying Merry Christmas!

Gee, I can't vote. I live in such a multi-ethnic town that not every group has a holiday in the near future.

Went with "Happy Holidays." Since I've been working in educational publishing, I seem to have picked up a tiny bit of their aversion to causing offense. It's a shame really, since I used to be so very good at offending people. Oh well...

Don't worry... it's like riding a bicycle! It'll always be in your arsenal when you really need it!

I suppose I will never understand how "Merry Christmas" suddenly became offensive...

People CHOOSE to be offended.

When I wish someone a "Merry Christmas", I am not saying it to offend and if they do not celebrate Christmas, they can simply take in the spirit it was offered - as a well wish for that day. The 25th of December still exists whether you celebrate Christmas or not.

Should people CHOOSE to be offended when I wish them "Have a Good Day" too?

There is enough hatred in the world already - going around looking for it in a well wish is just sad.

Merry Christmas

Take care all --

What My-immortal said. I am rebelling by putting a Christmas tree on my desk at work. But I work in an office with 3 other christians, so it isn't really that spectacular...

But my boss went with cards that said Seasons Greetings so as not to offend any of our clients. I kept my mouth shut. But it is rediculous. I used to work at a Jewish Deli, they played Christmas music in December, gave us Christmas bonuses and happily accomodated families on Christmas day either in the restuarant or catering. They took Merry Christmas in the spirit it was given.

Maryn, who just smiles and says Hi instead

I still don't see what is wrong with wishing someone a Merry Christmas. If the receiving party of your well wish CHOOSES to be offended by it, that is THEIR problem, not yours.

You just smile and say "Hi" instead - that's fine too, but why should you change something about yourself that isn't intended to be offensive just because you fear that someone else will CHOOSE to be offended. What if someone CHOOSES to be offended by your smile or even that you acknowledged them at all with your "hi"? Should you then stare at the ground as you pass them and ignore them completely?

Where does it end?

Merry Christmas --
:)

I'll say Merry Christmas, but not before Halloween. (Anybody notice the stores started with the Christmas music earlier this year? I have a feeling it's because they've predicted another sluggish retail season.)

I'll say Merry Christmas, but not before Halloween.I refuse to say it till after Thanksgiving. Or possibly later. Haven't said it yet. May not.
