Meanwhile Pastor Dr. Robert Jeffress, who introduced Governor Perry spoke on religious values:

On that last part I happen to agree with the pastor, for the first and probably only time.

Eric Kantor, at a previous Values Voters Summit, on the Tea Party protesters in Washington:
Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) praised the protesters from the stage for “fighting on the fighting lines of what we know is a battle for our democracy.” After his speech, he told TWI that the protests represented an “awakening in America.”

Meanwhile Pastor Dr. Robert Jeffress, who introduced Governor Perry spoke on religious values:
The pastor, Dr. Robert Jeffress, a senior pastor of the First Baptist Dallas megachurch, said that Mr. Romney was suspect on abortion and marriage, a conservative of convenience. Then he went on to say that it is the official view of the Southern Baptist Convention that Mormonism is a cult and that this was a factor in his decision to endorse Mr. Perry.
“Mormonism is a cult,” Dr. Jeffress said. “Mitt Romney is not a Christian. . .”
. . .He predicted that many evangelicals will tell pollsters that they don’t care about Mr. Romney’s religion, because they don’t want to appear bigoted, but in the privacy of the voting booth they will not vote for a Mormon.
